Multi-billion baht luxury Bangkok condos on the rise

If you are looking for a luxury apartment away from downtown Bangkok, then at the Riverside on the Chao Phraya River, over the years developers have created exclusive and often visionary luxury condominiums as residences with state-of-the-art facilities and breathtaking designs and views.

These prime locations on Bangkok’s Riverside cover an area that extends five kilometres along the river and it is a location where fifteen luxury residential towers have been built, including The Watermark, The Chatrium, Supalai River Place and Baan Sathorn.

There are now six new projects that have been proposed along these prime locations. The largest project, on a plot of land of 40 rai that is said to be worth 30 billion baht in Charoen Nakhon Road, involve three corporate titans: the Siam Paragon operator Siam Piwat, one of the best luxury residential development companies in Bangkok and the owner of projects that include the Siam Center, Siam Discovery Center and Siam Tower Magnolia, Quality Development Corporation and Charoen Pokphand Group, a Thailand-based global conglomerate.

The next largest project in line for development is the 10 billion baht Landmark Waterfront project by Country Group Development, a property developer and investor across the Asia Pacific region. Located on a plot of land consisting of 36 rai on Charoen Krung Road, the project is to include over 350 leasehold condo units and a luxury hotel with over 400 rooms under the brands of Capella and Dubai-based hotel chain Jumeirah.

Other residential projects are the Menam Residences, valued at over 3 billion baht and launched in 2012 with a total of 294 units, and next to the Anantara the first Avani hotel is to be built built by Minor Hotel Group, a company that has projects in destinations across Asia and the Middle East. Raimon Land also plans to launch Klapsons The River Residences with 92 units for rent worth a billion baht, on the 23rd to 31st floors of The River, which was launched in 2007.

These new projects will have to complete with existing buildings such as The Watermark, one the most extravagant condominium developments to date at a Grade A standard and The Chatrium, a modern, Grade A condominium development, with every unit having clear and unrestricted view of the Chao Phraya river and an extensive range of facilities.

While these multi-billion baht residential development projects are on the rise, another Bangkok Condo developer, Ananda Development, plans to launch thirteen new projects worth Bt30 billion next year. Ananda has budgeted to buy undeveloped land for the development these residential projects of Bt5 billion.
